What the Bleep Do We Know?! was recommneded by a friend - "it's unique .. a sort of documentary .. it's about parallel universes". It turned out to be much more than that. It's a story with a message.
The story is about Amanda (Marlee Matlin) who finds herself flitting between realities. One reality is her regular daily existence, but she slips chaotically from time to time into alternate realities that show the possible existences suggested by current quantum theories - which is the message. As these realities appear, Amanda gets to explore the fundamentals of her life and her relationships. She learns how to be the creator of her existence and no longer a victim of circumstance. "What the Bleep Do We Know" in its documentary side has interviews with both scientists and mystics sequenced to unfold the message that we're all connected - as are the seemingly disconnected messages of the scientific community and the spiritual community - "we realize that, in essence, both science and religion describe the same phenomena."
The film uses the actors and the live characters interspersed with diagrams and animation to provide an entertaining and powerful explanation of the scientific theories that underly the story. We come to understand a little about the interaction of our brains and the workings of our bodies - even down to the cellular level.If you're at all curious about this convergence of science and spirituality, "What the Bleep Do We Know" is a uniquely entertaining movie. If you're renting the DVD, be prepared to play it more than once - it's worth the second and third visits.
